Peel Gun Range, Brampton, Ontario VIRTUAL Engineers was asked by Maple Reinders Constructors Inc. to perform the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering design of Peel Gun Club (107 Nugget Crescent, Brampton) on behalf of the owner. This 25 m range was designed to accommodate certain future perceived expansion. Lead concentration level, noise level, laminar air flow within the range, maintaining negative pressure in the range, building automation control system, range lighting and operational cost were amongst the most important factors that were considered during the range design. This retrofit project also required close attention to detail to ensure new design match with the existing building with minimal disturbance while still complying with all applicable codes and standards. In addition to applicable building codes, NIOSH, OSHA, EPA, ASHRAE were the major standards that our engineers have complied with during the design.
Our team evaluated several venues during each project phase to ensure the most cost effective solution is designed. Building automation control system was designed to automate the vital part of the gun range while creating a system that is easy to use and maintain. Project team members were proud of their achievement at the end as they have developed skill sets that usually came from south of the border for gun ranges.
